Cosmetic Dentistry - One of the first things people notice is your smile. If
chipped, stained, or crooked teeth are "hiding" the real you,
it's time for a smile make over.
A beautiful smile can brighten your life every day,
professionally and socially. And unlike plastic surgery,
cosmetic dentistry isn't a major operation. Imagine coming in
for a single appointment or two and emerging with the smile
you've always wanted...no pain, no strain, no time take away
from your busy life. The results are immediate and dramatic.
Come in for a consultation. There are many ways we can give
you a youthful, attractive, natural looking smile!

► Brighten teeth that
have lost their sparkle.
We can treat discolored, stained or aging teeth with our
state-of-the-art whitening process. The treatment can be
completed in just over an hour in our office, or you can
choose at-home treatments. A dazzling smile isn't just for
celebrities any more. It's for you, because you're worth it.
Wherever you look, teeth are white, white, white. Now you can
brighten your smile with our powerful whitening treatments
that lighten discolorations caused by coffee, cigarettes,
medication, or aging. You'll notice the difference
immediately...and so will everyone else.
You can be custom fitted for a tray containing whitening gel
quickly and easily in your initial visit, then continue
treatments in your home until your teeth are as bright as you
want.
Whitening really does work like magic.

► Cover problem teeth with
ultra-thin porcelain veneers.
Think of this treatment as a manicure for your smile. Veneers
are thin shells of porcelain that are custom fit over your
natural teeth. We can change the shape, color and length of
your teeth in only two visits. It looks so good you'll wonder
why you waited so long.
Today we have exciting new biomaterials that can give your
smile a lift without invasive treatments. Ultra-thin porcelain
veneers can correct chipped, weakened, or discolored teeth. No
more yellow. No more gaps or embarrassing chips. And veneers
can return real structural integrity to damaged teeth, while
leaving them looking as good (or possibly better) than the
originals.
Veneers are custom made to fit over your natural teeth, with a
finish more translucent to blend in with surrounding teeth. So
people won't notice your tooth, they'll simply see your
beautiful, natural smile.

► Bonding:
Bonding is similar to sculpting individual teeth with a
special tooth-like material that looks, acts and feels like
the real thing. Bonding is an affordable, quick and painless
way to repair many cosmetic flaws or injuries, and can quickly
fill in ugly gaps between teeth.

► Porcelain Crowns:
When the size of a "filling" exceeds a certain proportion of
the tooth, it must be replaced with a "cap," also called a
"crown." Porcelain crowns look very natural and don't have a
dark metal line. Porcelain crowns can make even the
ugliest teeth look like a movie star smile and reflect light
with a natural healthy glow.

► Go natural with implants.
Implants are bridges that are permanently anchored into the
jaw. Because there is always a perfect fit, implants are
almost the same as having your natural teeth back again. To
qualify for implants, you'll need healthy oral tissues and
jawbone ridges that are in good shape. If you're suffering
from tooth loss, let's discuss whether implants are an option
for you. If you are missing one or more teeth, you'll want
replacements that are as natural as possible. If dentures
don't work for you, you may consider dental implants. Unlike
dentures, which can be removed, implants are permanently
anchored into the jaw itself.
You are a good candidate for implants if you have jawbone
ridges that are in good shape and healthy oral tissues. When
the implant device is inserted into the jaw, a chemical and
mechanical bond is formed. The jawbone actually grows into the
implant.
With implants, you get a perfect fit, and they will look and
feel as good as (or better than!) your original teeth.
The photo below also includes the use of a good example of
permanently implanting a synthetic tooth to fill a gap
Additionally, as you can see, tooth-colored fillings an
substantially improve the beauty of your teeth..

► Turn "metal mouth" into a
natural smile.
Replace old crowns and bridges with metal-free restorations.
There's a huge difference between metal fillings and our new
porcelain restorations that reflect the translucence of
natural teeth. Your new metal-free crowns, inlays and bridges
won't show wear or cause opposing teeth to erode, and fitting
the crown or bridge is a breeze. As you can see in the photo
below, tooth-colored fillings can substantially improve the
beauty of your teeth. The photo also includes the use of a
good example of permanently implanting a synthetic tooth to
fill a gap.

► Ditch ill-fitting dentures
with new ones that are even more natural, functional and
comfortable.
These are not your mother's dentures. New materials can be
custom blended to your skin, hair and eye color to look as if
you were born with perfect teeth. Dentures can also be
replaced or relined to correct problems with aging jaws so you
can chew without discomfort again.
With so many advances in modern dentistry, fewer people need
to wear full dentures. If you have older dentures or think you
may need dentures, you're in luck. Denture technology has
never been better.
As people age, dentures can cause wearers to look older than
they really are and can cause pain when chewing. We can
replace worn out dentures with custom made, state-of-the-art
dentures that blend with your skin, hair and even eye color.
Your dentures will look as natural as possible, even down to
the fillings.
Before going to the plastic surgeon, get a "face lift" with
comfortable, attractive dentures.

► Replace Missing Teeth
In the past, the loss of teeth (edentulism) was dismissed as a
natural part of the aging process, and dentures were
considered a normal sign of old age. While such
ignorance is rapidly becoming a thing of the past, there is
still not a general awareness of the seriousness of edentulism.
Multiple tooth loss is most commonly caused by periodontal
disease, i.e.. gum and bone disease. Periodontal disease has a
high statistical correlation with chronic debilitating
disease, such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease and
arthritis.
So it is not very surprising that studies now show a shortened
life expectancy by as much as 10 years for persons who have
lost their natural teeth, when compared to those who have kept
their teeth.
In addition to longevity, quality-of-life differences are just
as significant. The functional efficiency of dentures has been
measured to be only 20% of that of natural teeth. Can there be
any doubt that nutritional deficiencies will be much more
prevalent in those without their natural teeth?
Loss of teeth often causes a feeling of loss of wholeness and
a sense of deterioration and aging. Given these factors,
preservation of the natural teeth is integral to whole-person
wellness.

► Replace Missing Teeth Using Dental
Impants.
"Well, you know Doc, it's just a back tooth. No one will see
it so I'll just get rid of it. It's not going to make a
difference."
The plain truth is that it will make a difference. The loss of
just a single tooth can set a course that can destroy an
entire mouth. "Well, if that's true, tell me more. I sure
don't want to lose the front ones that I smile with."
Teeth will drift and tip into a space that is created by
missing teeth. Just like two gears of a car that are not
properly aligned, pretty soon you've got a whole lot of
problems. Losing just one tooth can lead to the loss of
support, and teeth begin to drift into the empty space,
causing a change in the bite. It also forces the remaining
teeth to carry an additional load, sometimes past their
ability to adapt. In most cases, when even one tooth is lost,
the remaining teeth suffer and are more likely to be lost as
well.
"Well, I don't like that. What can I do?" If it sounds like
I've heard this conversation a few times, you're right. If I'm
going to keep a patient happy, I need to provide options at
this point.
One of the options would be an implant. This is the
replacement of a tooth with a false root that is surgically
placed. It is then followed by the careful construction of a
crown to replace the missing tooth, to prevent teeth from
shifting and thereby causing further tooth loss.

implant treatment, please call our office.
