Dr. Shann Snedden

Dr. Snedden attended Medicine Hat College and attained her B.Sc. and DDS degree in Dentistry from the University of Alberta in 1983. Dr. Snedden combines technical skill with a passion for organization and completeness.
She has taken a special interest in the field of Pedodontics, particularly Orthodontics, and is involved in hands-on study groups in this area and in restorative dentistry.

Dr. Kenneth Siemens

Dr. Siemens graduated from the University of Saskatchewan Dental School in 1982. Dr. Siemens is one of the ten percent of dentists who place and restore dental implants. He also continues to be involved in virtually all aspects of dental health - especially orthodontics, endodontics, and cosmetic procedures.

Dr. Lydell Wenzel

Upon graduation from the University of Saskatchewan in 1982, Dr. Wenzel joined River Centre Dental Clinic as an associate and a few years later became a partner. Dr. Wenzell s a member of the International Association of Orthodontics.
In addition, Dr. Wenzel has found implant dentistry to be one of the most rewarding procedures for his patients. It will likely continue to grow and so will Dr. Wenzel's commitment to excellence in this area.

Dr. Nick Douvis

Dr. Douvis was born in Medicine Hat and raised both in town and on an acreage just south of Dunmore. Together with his wife Voula, their daughter Christina, and their son Spiro, they have since taken up residence in the city. He is currently into his 15th year here at River Dental and his 12th year as a partner. While growing up, Dr. Douvis played all sports but had a special interest in hockey which he still shares today. When not spending time with his two children, Dr. Douvis enjoys volunteering some of his free time with groups such as the United Way. He also served in the past on the Board of Directors for Junior Achievement for seven years. He still teaches in their programs such as the Economics of Staying in School and Business Basics. He has been a guest speaker at Medicine Hat Minor Hockey awards banquets and also at the Medicine Hat College convocation ceremonies. With his partners, Dr. Douvis serves the Medicine Hat Tigers with all of their dental reconstruction needs.

Since joining the clinic, Dr. Douvis and his team have committed themselves to upholding the high quality of care that this clinic has offered since it first opened its doors almost 30 years ago. Dr. Douvis has invested over 1300 hours into continuing education to date. Most recently, he has also been involved with creating Pure Power Mouthguards and Sleep Apnea Appliances. With his receptionist Doris Prosofsky and Level II dental assistants (Shawna Thomas, Tennille Erb, Jolene Varga & Courtney Stewart) Dr. Douvis has maintained a focus for his patients of comprehensive dental care.

With more than 14 years behind them and many more in the future, Dr. Douvis and his team would like to share their appreciation for the other great people who work at River Dental. They dedicate a great portion of their day to providing you with the highest quality service possible. Dr. J.P. Gallimore

Dr. Gallimore is a graduate from the Faculty of Dentistry and Oral Health Sciences at the University of Alberta in Edmonton. Dr. Gallimore has special interests in Aesthetics, Implantology and sleep breathing disorders (eg. sleep apnea). He understands that one of the most rewarding experiences in dentistry is improving patient's self-esteem and quality of life. Dr. Gallimore is an alumnus of the following institutes: Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation, Comprehensive Orthodontic Training through F.O.R.C.E Int., various Implant, Surgical and Restorative courses from Nobel Bio-care, with Leadership in Dentistry through Exper-dent.

Dr. Scott Van Dam

In 1998 Dr. van Dam transferred to the University of Alberta after completing 2 years of science at the Medicine Hat College. There, he convocated with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2002 and started practice with River Centre Dental Clinic immediately.

Dr. Chris Baba

Dr. Baba was born and raised in Medicine Hat where he graduated from McCoy High School. Chris served in the Army Reserves for over five years and was the soldier chosen to represent his Regiment in Europe for the 60th anniversary of the Liberation of Holland. Read More...


After two years of study at Medicine Hat College, Chris entered the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Alberta where he earned his Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Dental Surgery degrees. During this time, he was selected to attend a summer exchange program in Germany, focusing on prosthetic dentistry. For the entire duration of his time in the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, Chris also served as president of his class. Upon graduation, Chris was presented with awards for Oral Surgery, Fixed Prosthetics (crowns, bridges, veneers etc.) and Operative Dentistry (fillings etc.).

It has been Chris's dream to return home to practice dentistry and be with his family, friends and fiancée Amanda.
