Dr. Nick Douvis - Continued ...
which he still shares today. Although he does not play as much
as before, he has shifted most of his focus to coaching. He
has coached Atom A and B, Junior B, PeeWee AA, Midget Girls,
and Bantam AAA.
Dr. Douvis loves to volunteer his time such as he did on the
Board of Directors for Junior Achievement of Medicine Hat for
seven years. He teaches in their programs such as the
Economics of Staying in School and Business Basics. He
volunteers his time once a year during the Medicine Hat
College Information Evening to encourage grade 12 students to
attend the College, and also recently spoke at their
convocation ceremonies. In addition, he has served 2 years as
Vice-President of the Medicine Hat and District Dental
Society.
Since joining the clinic, Dr. Douvis and his staff have
committed themselves to upholding the high quality of care
that this clinic has offered since it first opened it doors
over 25 years ago. To continue this commitment to excellence,
Dr. Douvis has invested over 950 hours into continuing
education to date. Most notably, he has finished many seminars
at the world renowned Las Vegas Institute (LVI) of Advanced
Cosmetic Dentistry. This has opened new doors to patients
mainly in the areas of Orthodontics, Implants, Sedation,
Pediatric and Cosmetic Dentistry. At LVI, he continues with
seminars in the specialized science of Neuromuscular Dentistry
which assists in rebuilding people's bites and solving TMJ
problems such as headaches and neckaches. With his
receptionist Doris Prosofsky and Level 2 Dental Assistants
Laurel Solheim, Shawna Thomas, Jolene Stovka and Pam
Dergousaff, Dr. Douvis has maintained a focus for his patients
of comprehensive dental care.
With just about nine years behind them and hopefully many more
in the future, Dr. Douvis and his team would like to share
their appreciation for the other great people who work in this
office. They dedicate a great portion of their day to
providing you with the highest quality service possible. Dr.
Douvis and his staff would also like to extend their gratitude
to their loyal patients and appreciate any invitations that
they might have to other people in our great community.
